I’m Cole Rowe. Rowes Moving Pensacola started in 2011 with a single box truck my father passed to me, and today it’s a full family crew working Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. We do things one way: you get a firm dollar figure on paper, you sign it, and only then does a mover pick anything up.

Sizing the crew to the job

A pair of movers handles apartments and most single-story homes around Ferry Pass or Brent. For a North Hill Victorian with a tight staircase, or a big Gulf Breeze waterfront place, we send three so it’s done before the afternoon thunderstorms. Brett Kinsella runs the historic streets; Marcus Ordonez takes the coast.

Crew size Hourly Good for
2 movers + truck $135/hr Apartments, one-bedrooms, flat homes
3 movers + truck $185/hr Larger houses, stairs, three-bedroom-plus

We hold a one-hour minimum and then bill by the quarter-hour. Padding, dollies, and shrink-wrap are already inside that rate — you’ll never see them itemized — and there’s no premium for booking a weekend day.

Typical signed rates around the metro

Before Marlene Whitfield commits to a number, she looks at your address, the floor you’re on, and how a truck can reach the door. From there, most Escambia and Santa Rosa jobs come in around these figures:

The job Flat rate, in writing
1BR apartment, Ferry Pass or Warrington $405 – $560
2BR flat home, Pace or Milton $640 – $880
3BR East Hill historic house with stairs $1,010 – $1,380
4BR waterfront home, Gulf Breeze or Navarre $1,460 – $1,980
Second stop at a storage unit +$115 – $185 flat

The parts of town we’ve worked

Pensacola splits into a few kinds of move. The old grid — North Hill, East Hill, Old East Hill — throws deep porches, skinny driveways, and century-old doorframes at you. Across the bay it’s a different animal: soft ground, long walkways, and toll bridges out to Gulf Breeze and Navarre. Broadly, they break down like this:

  • Historic North Hill and East Hill homes: steep stairs, aging plaster, curb-only parking
  • Mid-century Ferry Pass, Brent, and Warrington ranches and postwar blocks
  • Gulf Breeze and Navarre waterfront properties with long carries over soft ground
  • Pace, Milton, and Cantonment lots that sit a fair distance off the road

Working through Gulf Coast summers

We move households through July heat and humidity, so the crew paces itself, carries plenty of water, and keeps spare wrap on the truck. During hurricane season, June to November, we track the tropics and only move a date when a genuine storm forces it. Need a rough number today? Punch it into the moving calculator. Leaving the state? Read up on long-distance moving. Third-floor unit? Our apartment crew has that covered, and the whole team is introduced back on the home page.

What Your Flat Rate Covers

Each item here is standard on every job — none of it turns up as a surprise line when the final invoice arrives.

  • You sign off on the full dollar figure before any lifting begins
  • Hourly runs $135 for two movers, $185 for three, with a one-hour floor
  • Padding, dollies, and wrap are baked into the rate, never itemized
  • Movers who already know North Hill stairways and Gulf Breeze access
  • Extra water, breaks, and spare wrap for a hot, humid move-day
  • The same background-checked crew loads your home and unloads it
  • Full-value protection available up to $1,000,000 per shipment
  • Weekends and evenings cost exactly the weekday rate

Common Questions

Are you a moving company?
Yes — Rowes Moving Pensacola is a fully licensed and insured Pensacola, FL moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crew, with a Florida intrastate mover registration and US DOT and MC authority.
Is the crew employed by you, or hired out through someone else?
Every mover is on our own payroll and wears the Rowes uniform. I opened this in 2011 with my father's truck and still set the schedule alongside Deshawn, so the names on your job sheet are the same people who arrive at your door.
Do you charge more when it's ninety degrees out?
No. Gulf Coast heat is just the climate we work in — the crew drinks water and takes breaks, and your quote holds regardless. We'll only reschedule for an active tropical storm, and Marlene rings you first to set the new day.
The estimate could be off — am I on the hook if the day runs long?
You pay the figure Marlene wrote, full stop. During the quote we account for the floor, the stairs, and the walk from the truck, so a tricky staircase or a long carry is already inside the price. Nothing extra shows up later.
One of these old East Hill houses has awful stairs — can your team manage?
Brett has spent years on exactly those homes across North Hill and East Hill. He'll measure your stairwell up front, protect the corners, and choose dollies that let a sofa or dresser clear the turn without touching the plaster.
What's the right lead time to reserve a moving date?
Seven days ahead usually gets you a good slot. The last week of the month and the opening days book out first, and summer stays busy, so lock your date with Marlene two or three weeks out once it's settled.
