I’m Cole Rowe, Emerald Coast born and raised. I learned this trade the hard way, hauling furniture for other outfits while watching how the money really worked. Two lessons stuck: how a 26-footer threads a shaded North Hill lane, and how fast a family gets squeezed when the meter runs after the truck’s loaded.
One box truck to a full crew
My dad ran a lone box truck, and in 2011 he passed it to me. I built Rowes Moving Pensacola as a fix for what I’d watched go wrong: read the job, quote a flat price, sign it, honor it whatever the weather does. Fifteen years on we’re a full Emerald Coast crew, and I still set the day’s truck board myself.
Who’s behind your move
There are 18 of us, about 14 on trucks any given day. Marlene Whitfield steers the office — bookings, certificates of insurance, and billing all cross her desk. Deshawn Pettis runs the daily board across Escambia and Santa Rosa. On the crew, Brett Kinsella heads historic North Hill and East Hill jobs, Tyler Braswell takes the long-haul I-10 lane to Mobile and Tallahassee, and Marcus Ordonez handles Gulf Breeze and Navarre waterfront plus full-pack.

- Every single job gets its flat rate signed before the loading starts, storm season or not
- Whoever loads you at this end is who unloads you at the other — your move never gets subcontracted out
- We hold our own commercial insurance and handle any claim right here, ourselves
This has been family-owned since the first day — the voice on the phone and the driver at your curb both report to me, so your move never gets lost in the gap between a call center and a stranger.
